Shri Manoj Mittal

Shri Manoj Mittal has been serving as Chairman & Managing Director of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) since July 2024. SIDBI, set up under an Act of Indian Parliament, acts as the Principal Financial Institution for Promotion, Financing and Development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector as well as for co-ordination of functions of institutions engaged in similar activities.

Prior to this, he served as MD&CEO of IFCI Ltd., a public sector Non-Banking Finance Company, for 3 years. During his tenure, IFCI Ltd. successfully turned the corner in FY2024 with a new business strategy, reporting profit after a series of annual losses. Earlier in his career, he spent 5 years as a Deputy Managing Director at SIDBI.

Shri Mittal brings over three decades of experience in driving organizational growth and delivering both impact and profitability through strategic leadership. He has extensive expertise in supporting MSMEs, startups, and financial intermediaries such as banks, NBFCs, microfinance institutions, and alternate investment funds. He has played a pioneering role in advancing alternative finance for the startup ecosystem through Fund of Funds operations, risk capital deployment, venture debt as well as seed capital assistance. He also has significant experience in designing, managing, and evaluating sustainability and development programmes supported by multilateral agencies and the Government of India.
