24/09/2025 At the Development of Industry Associations – National Conclave 2025, SIDBI welcomed more than 150 delegates from 105 associations, representing 90 MSME clusters across 23 states. In his address, CMD, SIDBI emphasized the pivotal role of associations in cluster development and their contribution to building vibrant MSME ecosystems. He reiterated SIDBI’s commitment to strengthening associations both professionally and financially, ensuring their sustainability and resilience, while conveying his key message: “Strong Clusters need Strong Industry Associations.” The conclave also marked the launch of the Industry Portal, a B2B platform designed to foster collaboration and growth across diverse sectors such as engineering, plastics, printing, textiles, and food processing. At the inaugural edition of “Nurturing Global Champions from Indian MSMEs & Startups” held in Mumbai, SIDBI brought together leaders, policymakers, and experts to chart this transformative journey. From 17th September to 2nd October 2025, the nation will commemorate Gandhiji’s vision of cleanliness and sustainability through a series of initiatives, including mega cleanliness drives, Shramdaan activities such as Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath, recognition of the contributions of Safai Mitras, administration of cleanliness pledges, and the promotion of eco-friendly practices. 5/09/2025 SIDBI’s new office premises of the Mumbai Regional and Branch Office will serve as a one-stop hub for local MSMEs, offering faster credit, customised solutions, and support for sustainable growth. With fully digital lending, financial assistance can now be accessed within 48 hours, complemented by Credit-Plus and developmental support. The office was inaugurated by CMD, SIDBI, marking a significant step towards strengthening the MSME ecosystem across the metropolitan region. It was noted that MSME lending has grown strongly over the last five years with improved asset quality. For exporting MSMEs, market diversification emerged as a key risk mitigant in the face of rising tariffs. Credit guarantees, particularly CGTMSE, were highlighted as crucial for unlocking the next wave of growth and boosting financing to NTC borrowers. Additionally, formalization efforts such as the Udyam Assist Platform were recognized as potential game changers, especially for Informal Micro Enterprises (IMEs).
