Nagaraju handed over a cheque as release of funds to Avaana Sustainability Fund (ASF), supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and anchored by SIDBI under DFS guidance. SIDBI, a GCF Accredited Entity, continues to champion green MSMEs across energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy, e-mobility & adaptation—helping India meet its Net Zero. ASF will catalyze equity investments in low-carbon, climate-resilient businesses and climate tech startups, targeting a leverage of USD 120 Mn. 28/05/2025 At the “Data Unlocked” event by Sahamati and FACE, leaders discussed how data and FinTech are improving credit access for small businesses. SIDBI stressed boosting MSME contributions to GDP and formalization through Udyam. Using bank, GST, and ITR data can ease MSME qualification, while RBI’s linking of Udyam to PSL is driving participation. 7/01/25 SIDBI, in partnership with Solidaridad Regional Expertise Centre, has launched an initiative in Unnao-Kanpur to skill 250 informal women leather workers. A training-cum-production centre offers hands-on skill development, entrepreneurial support, and formal credit access to MSMEs. The project helps women create value-added leather products, form producer groups, and integrate into the formal economy. Expected outcomes include 40 new product designs, 10+ women-led producer groups, a producer-owned company, and market and credit linkages for over 8 groups. Exposure visits will enhance real-world learning. This initiative aims to drive inclusive growth, women’s economic empowerment, and sustainable leather value chains. 2025-01-07
