अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न (FAQs)

SIDBI's Green Finance Loan facility is a form of MSME green finance that enables Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to invest in energy-efficient, cleaner and environmentally sustainable operations. Assistance is extended under the Green Finance Scheme (GFS), the End to End Energy Efficiency (4E) Scheme, the Electric Vehicle Risk Sharing Facility and the Risk Sharing Facility for Municipal Solid Waste Management.

  • GFS is a term loan for green projects in the MSME sector, covering areas such as renewable energy, energy-efficient buildings, waste management, resource and energy efficiency measures, wastewater treatment and cleaner production.
  • The SIDBI 4E scheme is an energy efficiency loan for MSMEs that finances energy-efficiency measures on an end-to-end basis, covering purchase of equipment and machinery, installation, civil works and commissioning.

  • 4E: up to 90% of project cost, with a minimum loan amount of ₹10 lakh. Up to 100% funding is available where a minimum cash collateral of 20% is provided in the form of a SIDBI Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR).
  • GFS: up to 100% financing, with a maximum loan of ₹20 crore for an MSME and ₹50 crore for a service provider or aggregator with an established MSME linkage.

MSMEs in the manufacturing or services sector, registered under Udyam Registration, with a satisfactory credit history and no defaults to any bank or financial institution, are eligible to apply. Under GFS, service providers and aggregators with an established MSME linkage are also eligible.

Under the 4E Scheme:

  • Detailed Appraisal Mode: the unit should be in operation for at least one year and should have undergone a Detailed Energy Audit by a technical agency or consultant with BEE-certified Energy Auditors.
  • Quick Dispensation Mode (100% funding against SIDBI FDR): the unit should have at least three years of operations and cash profit in the past two years, based on audited balance sheets.

All units are required to comply with SIDBI's Environment and Social Management Framework.

Under GFS, the repayment period is up to 10 years. Under the 4E Scheme, the repayment period, including any moratorium, is stipulated in the terms of sanction.

The Electric Vehicle Risk Sharing Facility is a partial credit guarantee arrangement under which SIDBI shares a part of the credit risk of lenders financing electric two- and three-wheelers. It is meant to improve the flow of finance to the electric mobility ecosystem. Enterprises such as fleet operators and aggregators seeking finance for electric vehicles may also contact SIDBI for assistance under its EV lending initiative.

Yes. SIDBI's green loan incentive page lists two sub-schemes under the Ministry of MSME's RAMP programme:

  • MSE-GIFT scheme (MSME Green Investment Financing for Transformation): supports MSMEs in adopting clean and green technologies through finance at a concessional rate.
  • MSE-SPICE (MSE Scheme for Promotion and Investment in Circular Economy): supports micro and small enterprises in adopting circular practices such as recycling, reuse and improved resource efficiency.
